F1's active aero and hybrid tech is trickling down faster than ever — is your next car affected?
With F1 running a genuine 50/50 hybrid split and active aero as standard from this season, and road hypercars like the W1 and the upcoming Ferrari running increasingly sophisticated multi-motor hybrid systems, the gap between grid and showroom feels smaller than it's been in years. Even outside the halo cars, I'm noticing more everyday performance models advertising active aero elements and torque-vectoring e-motors that would have sounded like motorsport exotica five years ago. My own RS6 already leans on hybrid-adjacent tech for the mild-hybrid starter-generator. Anyone shopping for a new daily this year actually factoring F1-derived tech into the decision, or is it still mostly marketing language at that end of the market?
