2026 rules explained for the rest of us: 50/50 hybrid split, no more DRS
Since half the threads here reference the new regs without explaining them, here's the short version for anyone who's been away from F1 for a season or two: — Minimum weight down from 800kg to 768kg — Combustion output capped around 400kW, electric deployment now up to 350kW (triple the old MGU-K limit) — MGU-H is gone entirely — too expensive, no road relevance — DRS is dead, replaced by an 'Override Mode' driver-activated boost — Cars run on Advanced Sustainable Fuel from day one Basically: lighter, more electric, less drag-reduction-flap, more energy management. It's a genuinely different sport to manage from the cockpit.
