Hamilton crashes into Colapinto in Miami — Ferrari's power unit nightmare continues
Not the Miami weekend Ferrari needed. Hamilton picked up underbody damage after contact with Colapinto early in the race, and on top of that the SF-26 power unit was visibly struggling for outright grunt in the Florida heat. As someone who works on hybrid calibration for a living, the heat-soak issue doesn't surprise me — the 2026 battery packs are smaller and denser than before, and thermal management under a Miami sun is brutal on any manufacturer's first-year unit. Genuinely worried about where this leaves Lewis mentally this early in the season. Rough start.
Nothing solid to add on team personnel but I'll believe the McLaren-Verstappen talks properly once someone official says literally anything beyond 'no comment'. Right now it's still entirely vibes and unnamed sources.
Heard the same technical director rumour from a different angle — sounds like there's genuine substance to at least one of these before the summer break, though I won't say which team until it's more solid.
